My Kau is a personal digital service for you as a student at Karlstad University. In My Kau, you perform administrative tasks related to your studies.
The following data is requested from the identity provider when you login:

The personal identity number is used to query the student documentation system, Ladok, to retrieve information about the student's education data and other personal information stored in Ladok. Personal data is also stored in log files for traceability purposes and to simplify troubleshooting.
The personal information is handled in such a way that no unauthorized persons can access them. Log files with personal data are cleared when they are no longer deemed necessary for traceability or troubleshooting in accordance with the University's information action plan. The personal details in your KauID will be kept as long as you are a student at Karlstad University plus an additional 18 months.
Personal information is processed within the framework of public interest. The personal identity number is necessary in order to identify the individual.

Rectification of personal data that was transferred at the moment of login has to be done in the identity provider that you used to log in. This information is corrected in the service at the moment of the first login after the personal information has been corrected in the identity provider.
The personal data controller is Karlstad University. According to EU GDPR legislation you have the right to (free of charge) find out what details we keep about you and, if necessary, get any errors corrected. You can also request that your information be deleted or restricted.
If you wish to request information then you should contact Karlstad University. If you are not satisfied with how your personal details are handled then you have the right of compliant to The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, https://www.imy.se/other-lang/ which is the regulatory authority.
