Welcome to English Linguistics III!
This module is part of English C and can be taken as part of the Teacher Education programme or as an independent course. The module covers the basics of English language history from a sociolinguistic perspective, with a special emphasis on phenomena that can be observed in modern English and current trends in the development of English. In addition, students read research publications which treat English language history from a sociolinguistic perspective, and learn about possible research questions and methods in the field.
All teaching sessions take place online. Attendance is not mandatory, except for oral exams.
