Introductory information for students admitted to Karlstad University.
It is important that you read all the information.

Before you begin your studies, you need to:

1. Create KauID
2. Register for your course

What is KauID? KauID is your digital identity at Karlstad University that allows you to log in to our digital services.


If you have studied at Kau before you do not have to create a new KauID, you can use the same KauID as last time.

2. Register for your course

You need to register on time, not to risk losing your place on the course.
Registration period: 2023-03-20 - 2023-03-27
Log in to My Kau using your KauID to register.

What is My Kau? My Kau is a personal digital service for students at Karlstad University.

It is important that you decline your admission offer if you do not wish to attend the course.


If you have been admitted late, and therefore can´t register on time, contact the administrator.

Kursen börjar tisdagen den 28 mars och är en helfartskurs. Det innebär att du bör planera ca 40 timmar per vecka till dina studier. Kursen utgörs av en självständigt genomförd undersökning som presenteras i form av en uppsats som ventileras vid ett seminarium. Studenten försvarar sitt självständiga arbete och genomför en opposition på en annan students arbete vid ett obligatoriskt seminarium. Handledning erbjuds under den tid kursen pågår.

Interkulturella studier är ett tvärvetenskapligt ämne som handlar om språklig, religiös eller etnisk heterogenitet i samtida samhällen. Det har en bakgrund i olika beteende- och humanvetenskaper, som socialpsykologi, språkvetenskap, antropologi och sociologi.

In the course, we use the learning platform Canvas. Canvas is a tool that offers a digital learning environment.
Once you have registered for your course in My Kau, you can log in to Canvas and access important course information.
