This course introduces corpus linguistics as a methodology in the study of language. i.e., the use of large text collections for linguistic investigations. Focusing on some selected areas of English grammar and phraseology, the course offers hands-on activities that enable participants to exploit both quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques used in corpus research.

Starting in week 13, we will meet for five seminars scheduled fortnightly. All seminars will be held in Zoom, and we will use the Canvas platform for course communications, the sharing of course materials, and the submission of assignments.

We will be using the following course book throughout the course. Please get a copy of it before the first seminar.

A detailed list of additional book chapters and research articles will be made available at the start of the course.
