Welcome to Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation (RHG310)!

The course consists of the following three modules:

Module 1 Fundamentals

In this module, you will get an introduction to the basics of sustainable development from a climate change perspective leading up to the Sustainable Development Goals. We will discuss how social-ecological systems can be affected by climate change and their interrelations at different scales. This will make the pathway to explain why climate adaptation and mitigation is needed.

Module 2 Climate change adaptation

The module introduces the central concepts related to climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. It will introduce different measures and strategies from around the world related to climate change adaptation and the politics around it.

Module 3 Climate change mitigation

This module focuses on climate change mitigation strategies for a systemic point of view and will critically examine Sustainable Development Goals and climate change mitigation strategies. It will also take a position on how you and the society at the individual and political levels can transform to sustainability.
